PROTECTOSIL® MINERAL PROTECTION
Moisture is the primary cause of almost all damage in building materials. Since many construction materials naturally have a porous structure, water and dissolved pollutants penetrate deep through capillary absorption. This sets the stage for hazardous damage that threatens structural integrity, such as reinforcement degradation in reinforced concrete structures, salt attacks, or freeze-thaw cycles. Protectosil® deep hydrophobation technology works directly inside the surfaces to keep water out while perfectly maintaining water vapor permeability (breathability). When water ingress into the structure is prevented, water-induced damages are also largely eliminated.

An excellent beading and droplet effect is created on the treated surfaces. Protectosil® prevents water droplets from being absorbed by the concrete cross-section, allowing water to slide off the surface. This prevents stain accumulation and dampness on the surface.
DEPTH OF DEEP HYDROPHOBATION
Protectosil® molecules penetrate much deeper into the pores of the material compared to ordinary water repellents. This deep penetration ensures that the protective chemical structure remains active in the concrete section even if the surface wears away.
